Frequently Asked Questions

How often and why should I get my lawn mower, snow blower, or other small equipment tuned-up?

At the minimum, tune-ups should be performed once per year. Small equipment runs in the most harsh conditions possible. Typically, engines inhale a lot of dust and moisture from the environment. Without a service once per year, fuel and air filters can get clogged and oil can turn into a nasty sludge. Oil sludge can block key lubricating points in your engine and cause premature wear. Eventually , it will cause permanent damage. Blown gaskets and oil leaks are very common with lack of maintenance, and those are costly repairs. Also, small equipment has several friction areas that need greasing and lubricating to prevent overheating and metal to metal grinding.

Why should I get a tune-up if I rarely use my equipment throughout the year?

Snow blowers, generators, pressure washers, and tillers tend to fall under this category . It is very important to get these machines serviced annually if not more than that. Condensation from our fluctuating climate allows water to get into the oil and gas. Water permanently damages internal engine parts if the oil is not changed. Water will also damage the carburetor because it will quickly turn the fuel into varnish and clog the jets. Furthermore, from the machine sitting, rodents can get into the air cleaner and destroy it. All of these damages from sitting will prevent the machine from starting and running properly when you need it the most!

What is all included in the listed on-site tune-up prices?

Each price listed is the full maintenance package. For mowers, it includes replacement of oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, and spark plugs. Next, it includes blade sharpening/balancing with a deck cleaning. Also, a full grease and lube of chassis is included along with a general inspection.

For snow blowers, it includes replacement of oil, spark plug, and fuel filter. Next, it includes a fuel system flush with added fuel stabilizer to allow for safe storage.
